One of the most common questions we get here at Ragdoll Kittens by Kelly is “What Kind of Food Do you Feed the Kittens?”

I feed the kittens Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Dry Cat Food for Young Kittens and a variety of wet foods ranging from Weruva to Nutro. The more brands and treats your introduce your kitten to at a young age, they will be less picky and have a good appetite for a variety of foods.

I leave dry food/kibble out 24/7 in automatic feeders. I feed them wet food regularly — sometimes daily or sometimes a couple times a week. It varies. Wet food is a good source of protein, especially as your kitten grows. If you spoil them too much with wet food, they may reject the dry. Always get them eating Kibble regularly first.

For adult cats, I prefer Nutro Grain Free (Duck and Potato or Chicken and Potato) dry kibble. Grain free does not mean carb free. Having a diet with no carbs could be unhealthy for your Cat. Everything in moderation. Grain free means going a step beyond a gluten free diet to eliminate all the grains including wheat products, rice, corn and oats. Nutro is a higher grade of protein (Duck and Chicken) but it still contains cards (Potato) which is a good balanced diet. My veterinarian says this food is so good and healthy that I could also feed the kittens this adult brand of food.
